BUENOS AIRES, July 9 (Xinhua) -- Argentine President Javier Milei issued executive orders to disband national highway safety and management agencies.
The orders to disband the National Transit and Road Safety Commission, National Road Safety Agency, and the National Highway Directorate (DNV) were published Tuesday in the government gazette and signed by the president.
The DNV was established in 1932 to promote and strengthen the country's road infrastructure, enhancing connectivity between towns and cities.
The president's office said the agency's activities and complex structure "do not meet current management needs, resulting in slow project execution and high operating costs for the national government." ■
